Brown’s Community Barber College LLC
I am originally from Chicago Illinois, born and raised, and I have also lived in the beautiful city of Daytona Beach Florida, where I attended undergrad. Growing up in Chicago, the presence of violence, gang activity, and drugs were throughout the inner city where I grew up, but haircutting and the field of barbering saved my life. I attended Westinghouse Career Academy, a vocational high school, and Barbering was my major area of study. February before I graduated high school, at the age of 17, I became a licensed professional barber! I was also blessed to attended Bethune Cookman University on a full tuition academic scholarship, and received a Bachelors of Science Degree in Business Administration/Management. I am currently a master barber and educator as I attended the world known “Dudley’s Beauty School” of Dudley’s Products, for my Master Barber-Instructor Training Certification. I am currently in the process of starting my own barber college business! I have already located a storefront and have received the approval from the Ohio State Barber Board to operate and open my educational facility as a private barber school. I am currently in the process of raising start-up capital to make this dream come true!
As a member of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity Incorporated, my dream is to also utilize my business to give back to the world: therefore, we have community programs in place, donating free and discounted services as a means to give back ( i.e shelters, retirement communities, mentor programs). My dream for the future of my business is to build a global brand similar to the Paul Mitchell’s of the hair world, as well as, establishing a reputation for taking care of the community and giving back. I would like to see a “BC Squared” in every city, state, and country, and have a meaningful and purposeful way to contribute to the evolution of the field of Barbering

More about this loan
Brown’s Community Barber College LLC, or “BC Squared” for short, is an educational facility that focuses on the field of professional barbering, and training individuals to become licensed barbers. BC Squared is also a community based organization that focuses on community service and the bloodline of giving back. We will train individuals to become barbers, leaders, entrepreneurs, and to take responsible actions to better the community in which they work. As a senior in college, while searching for the next steps in my career, I spent almost a half year training barbers in my barbershop on how to perform more modern services, the art of shaving, and razor and shear work. This lead to my desire to teach barbering and pass on my God given talent and knowledge to individuals like myself. I understand that everyone doesn’t have an option to attend college on a scholarship, or for some to attend at all. I want to make college and undergrad an option, whether they can afford federal funds or not. I aim to target those individuals who are graduating high school but may have or need financial assistance to pay for college. I believe Barbering can bridge the gap and make college and also entrepreneurship a reality for all who invest in the profession. The biggest challenge for my journey right now is raising enough start-up capital that will get us through the first 3 years of business. The most important goal for my brand is to gain national accredidation after 2 years as a successful testing institution, as required by the ratio’s of the state board. Once accredited, my goals are to expand and build a chain of Franchised BC Squared locations all over the globe. The most admirable aspect of my business is the emphasis we place on “Community”. I have goals to include a Non Profit element of my business that we have as our “Business Identity” and effort to give back. We are in place to donate free and discounted services to neighborhood shelters, retirement home communities, church affiliates, and health and wellness organizations.
