A candle set meant to enhance your tabletop gaming with evocative scents and beautifully designed metal coins!
Our first Kickstarter campaign catapulted our small business–Boonzy Arts Candles–to the next level. That campaign was called the Wheel of Flame candle line, and it featured six candles themed around realms in a swords and sorcery setting, along with premium metal dice embedded in the wax. We’ve been steadily selling our gaming candles ever since. In fact, the response has been so great that we knew we had to revisit the idea of enhancing tabletop gaming with evocative scents, top-notch label design, and fun embeddables.
These candles, like the Wheel of Flame set, are meant to augment your game by providing an atmospheric fragrance corresponding to various themes. Each candle compliments a different genre of tabletop game and has a scent that is reminiscent of the worlds you may be visiting in the game.
Candle scents are still in development, but we have a rough idea. Scents are subject to change before the end of the campaign.
And that’s not all — embedded in each candle will be five metal coins from our friends at Norse Foundry! These beautiful RPG coins have denominations of 1, 5, 10, 25, and 100. You’ll be able to extract one of each from the molten wax as the candle melts down.

The vastly talented artist Cristina Bencina is hard at work on our label designs now. For this line of candles, we’re hoping to evoke the “movie poster”-style artwork seen on some of the most popular contemporary tabletop games.
Here’s a sneak peek at Cristina’s amazing work to get you excited:
That’s okay! These candles all have pleasant, evocative scents and can be used around your home. So many people messaged us after receiving their WoF candles to say they enjoyed lighting them all of the time, not just during gaming.
We use 100% soy wax for our candles, along with premium fragrance oils and dyes. After the 50+ hours of burn time, you can reuse the 8oz jars (with lids) and continue to enjoy the beautiful artwork of Cristina Bencina.
Happily, when it comes to risks and challenges, we already have a whole Kickstarter campaign under our belts. Our first campaign was an incredible learning experience.
The main challenge we faced in our first campaign was volume. The Wheel of Flame campaign wound up being ten times larger than we’d planned, so we bought an industrial wax melter with a 100-pound capacity. We call her Midge, and she can pump out approximately 200 candles per hour.
We also had some suppliers run out of stock right when we needed it, so over the last year, we’ve connected with backup suppliers.
Producing these candles also proved to be a meticulous, painstaking process. After pouring the candles, we have to embed the goodies (in this case, coins), and then clean and label the candles. Luckily, we had a loyal group of helper elves who pitched in to the cause—and they’re coming back for more.
