Douglas Wagner, President
Doug, a graduate of Lougheed Business College, can best be described as a pioneer and entrepreneur, with a proven 40 years of business experience. After 28 years of building Alpine Plant Foods Ltd. into a bi-national company and subsequent sale of that company, Doug completed the Canadian Securities Course and opened his own financial services business in New Hamburg. In addition to running that business, Doug has been involved in several commercial and residential land development projects and currently, along with his partners, is developing a 490 unit adult lifestyle community in south-western Ontario. Doug has served on the board of numerous not for profit organizations and is also, active in the local Habitat for Humanity organization.
Ray Roth, Vice President, General Manager
Ray Roth began his entrepreneurial career by building Roth Drainage Ltd.; the largest drainage-contracting firm in North America. Following the sale of Roth Drainage, he established a successful drilling company, in addition to ventures in real estate. In 2007, a new opportunity presented itself to Ray when he helped co-found Saturn Power, with Doug Wagner, President. Maneuvering through the minefields of the Ontario Power Authority’s RESOP and FIT programs, Ray has helped guide Saturn Power to many great successes; one being the completion and on-going operation of Gesner Wind Farm.
Jeremy Goertz, Vice President, Business Development and Construction
Jeremy is a leader in the Renewable Energy sector. Jeremy has directed and managed engineering work for over 300MW of utility-scale renewable energy projects, including Photovoltaic Solar and Wind Farms. With experience in assembling the right team to implement technically sound solutions, Jeremy has worked on large-scale Net Metered projects throughout North America. Beyond Jeremy’s knowledge of the many Renewable Energy programs, he has experience directing electrical engineering work for permit submission requirements as required by LSC’s and Electrical Safety Authority.
Karen Bertram, Controller
Karen joins Saturn Power with an extensive background in finance. Her past experiences working in the industry as a CFO, Consultant, Advisor and Partner in various firms in the Waterloo Region will be a definite asset to the team. Karen is a committed community member and has inspired countless young people to follow their entrepreneurial dreams as a mentor with City of Kitchener. She is an active member of the KW Business Women in Networking group.
