Ask me where I grew up and most likely I will respond, “in a restaurant booth”. My name is Pugs Hayes, I am the owner and head brewer here at Hayes’. Back in 2013 I decided to embark on a journey that would forever change my life. Working from job to job and trying to discover my passions in life, while partaking in the Business Management program at Rasmussen College I was fortunate enough to find craft beer and craft brewing. Hayes’ Public House became an extended vision of what my grandmother was able to create in a small community for 40+ years. A local restaurant that brought in people from all over, Stella’s Café was the local gathering place where hospitality was combined with amazing family recipes to create the ultimate experience for customers and locals.
After my first home brewing experience with a good buddy I was hooked and hobby quickly became passion. I now had something that could be linked to my vision and dream. Hayes’ Public House was to be Wright County’s first brewery since prohibition and Buffalo’s first ever brewery and in November 2013 we made that happen. At Hayes’ we pride ourselves on hospitality, educating customers on our products, fun atmosphere, and a place for all walks of life. Since 2013 we have continued to grow slowly which allows us to grow with the community and let the community be a part of every step Hayes’ takes.
Hayes’ has been open for almost 3 years, signed our second lease and within our first year we were able to experience our first big expansion from Portland Kettle Works being the 7bbl jacketed tanks. As of right now Hayes’ operates on a 3bbl brewhouse which we double batch into 7bbl tanks. We are looking to expand the brewhouse to a 7bbl system to match our tanks. We are also looking at getting a 15bbl tank that will allow us to double batch on a 7bbl system into a 15bbl tank to help keep up with our staple beers like our flagship beer O’Ruaidhris Irish Red. This campaign will also allow us to purchase more kegs for distribution and bottles for our limited bottle releases. It’s a big step for Hayes’ but I know with the help of all our amazing followers we can achieve this goal so we can continue to grow. We are looking to start creating jobs and start being more active in the community and believe that with steady growth we will achieve this.
By pledging to the cause in whatever funding bracket you chose you will notice some pretty awesome rewards. Don’t worry if you are unable to financially back us you can still be a part of this campaign and a part of Hayes’ Public House to help support this cause. All you need to do is spread the word and help promote Hayes’ campaign. You can use all the social media outlets such as Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, or just stop in the pub and enjoy a couple of pints! As always we appreciate your support and help!
