THE STORY:

Northwest Pasadena lacks the programs, tools and resources for pre-teens and young adults to prosper and have a fighting chance in life. These youth deserve a better foundation for success. Instead they are forced into the school to prison pipeline by a system that has deemed them disposable. Our city government refuses to take responsibility for changing this inhumane system. Kendrick Mcdade’s murder at the hands of the Pasadena PD and the cover-up that followed has exposed the City of Pasadena. Organizers like myself are taking our power back. But we are also being targeted by Pasadena’s police state for our work. I am still fighting back against unjust charges trumped up against me by the Pasadena PD. We know that our community deserves better. We deserve after-school programs, a quality education, greater access to the arts and healthy food. It is our mission to bring these things to our community. We need resources to defend ourselves against Pasadena’s repression. We need resources for community based programs. Help us start by donating your hard earned funds so we can send these youth to camp this summer.

Now is the time to support your community. Now is the time to fight back against the criminalization of black people. Now is the time to show the world what we mean when we say THIS IS A MOVEMENT! NOT A MOMENT!
