Mission to Mars, School Holiday Club

Inspire 21st-century tech engineers in Cornwall.

Join us on a Mission to Mars (M2M). We need your help to increase our training resources and the number of students (11+) we can reach.

M2M offers students hands-on experience programming a robot ‘destined’ for Mars. Applying theory, developing skills, and working in teams to define the Rover’s logic. Can you automate it?

M2M simulates a real project with a series of objectives, budget constraints, and virtual contract to be won. Run during school holidays, we currently have kit and resource to for 12 students. We’re looking to expand this to 40+.

 M2M helps:

  • teach computer science and IT skills.
  • offer practical ways to develop skills and gain experience
  • raise awareness of digital tech careers in Cornwall

The initial £1500 target enable us to reach our 40 student goal. All additional funding will be used to run more events, and further increase our resources and capacity.

We are always looking for mentor and location volunteers. Please get in touch, via the Software Cornwall Website, if you’d like to get involved. A recent mentor blogged his experience here.
