A Thousand Yellow Daisies is a start up design company focused on creating beautiful patterns and designs for a range of products. We aim to improve your home and your happiness by bringing beauty, colour and pattern into your lives.through a range of products such as home-wares, greetings, desk accessories, soft furnishings and prints.

I am looking to raise £650 to achieve the target allowing me to access funding offered to me from Solent University. This funding will enable the business to begin manufacturing the first design line and set up the online store.

Who Am I?

My name is Samantha Miles and I am a final year Graphic Design student at Solent. Having dreamt of having my own design business since taking an art foundation in 2012 where I produced a prototype line of products, I am excited to now be making this dream a reality with the help of wonderful people like yourselves!

As a pattern loving, stationary addict coffee fanatic with a background in art and design. I have always been a creative person and am passionate to learn and love to design. Having spent the past three years learning techniques through self teaching, e-courses such as ‘The Art and Business of Surface Pattern Design’ and my degree; refining my own design style; learning business skills through additional university courses and running the university enterprise society, am now ready and excited to take my design to the next level and share beautiful design with the world.

By raising this money I will be able to manufacture and maintain a line of paper goods and home wares. This funding will also allow me to start creating my second line of designs. Any additional funding I raise will go towards buying equipment such as screen printing and lino cut kits so I can continue to create prints after leaving university and no longer having access to those facilities.
