Quando ero giovane, mi dicevano: “Vedrà quando avrà 50 anni”.
Ho 50 anni. Ma non vedo niente. [Erik Satie]

When I was young, they’d say: “When you’re fifty you’ll see.”
I’m fifty. But I still don’t see anything. [Erik Satie]
Who knows me already, knows that Satie is the author of my heart. I’ve always been interested and fascinated by his simplicity, his shallow depth, his irreverence; I love him from the conservatory days, when, between a study of Chopin and a Beethoven’s Sonata, I played Satie in secret, as in the academic world he was not considered worthy of being part of the authors to put into the repertoire. In my first cd, (way back in 1995), I played the “Gymnopedies” and the “Gnossiennes” between “the sounds and the perfumes” of Debussy and Ravel. Years after, I dedicated to him an entire album entitled “Esoterik Satie”, that ended up in the charts in France among the top selling classical discs. There is no concert where I do not play at least one of his compositions. I consider Satie not only a teacher but also a friend to talk to, so that in my album “The Golden Fly” I wrote a piece (Talking to Satie) imagining talking to him. This year, 2016, Satie and I celebrate an important birthday: Mine is the 50th, his is the 150th. Not often there is a conjunction of this type, so I thought we would give ourselves a special gift in which dreams, sounds and colors can merge.
To make this project come true I needed an artist who could share with me this trip, so I involved Onze, a visionary and unique artist, able to seek those “impressions” resulting from the irregular shapes of a dream.
We are working on two fronts: that of the live performance (October 27 we will be staged at Romaeuropa Festival in Rome) and one in the studio. Thanks to you all, we would like to release a precious box with a CD and a DVD to cherish our tribute to a true pioneer of modern music , defined by John Cage: “essential”.
All the compositions are new original pieces of mine.
And now… if I’ve been able to convey to you even a little bit of my passion for Satie, try to turn your eyes to the right of this page and choose between one of the rewards that I thought for you …
… We have until August 6 to make this journey together and light all the 150 candles.
Meanwhile, thanks to all of you that will support me and Onze in this new adventure.
We’ll descend to the bottom of a lake, we’ll go inside a volcano and up on a metal tower …. in the heart of Satie.
