Three $1bn+ IPOs from EMEA Issuers Expected in June 2016

 

As of June 2, 2016, three $1bn+ IPOs by EMEA issuers are being marketed, with two of these deals expected to price on June 9. The $2.5bn privatization of Danish energy distributor Dong Energy is the largest, followed by the Dutch state’s sell-down of a 35% stake in insurer ASR Nederland, expected to raise $1.1bn

No IPO over $1bn has been priced by EMEA issuers so far in 2016, compared to five $1bn+ IPOs priced in the same period last year. The last such IPO was on November 20, 2015, when ABN AMRO Group was privatized for $4.1bn

UK most active EMEA IPO issuing nation

For the fourth consecutive YTD period, UK issuers are the most active in EMEA for IPOs, with 25 listings so far this year. UK IPO volume of $2.9bn, however, is down 50% from $5.8bn raised via 29 deals in the same period of 2015
