MEI’s core mission is to improve the productivity and efficiency of its customers by offering best-of-breed software like TruEdit.com, high-quality services, and ongoing support.
MEI was founded in January 1990 as Managing Editor Software, Inc. Then as now MEI has strived to become the foremost content-lifecycle systems provider by developing and integrating cost-effective software and services to markets that include both traditional publishers and, more recently, to digital content providers in all markets.
MEI’s core mission is to improve the productivity and efficiency of its customers by offering best-of-breed software, high-quality services, and ongoing support. Building on the expertise of its staff, the company provides unique and exceptional value for its customers and partners. With a diversified offering of products and services MEI can easily shift experienced resources on demand giving the customer a more satisfying end user experience.
MEI’s plan is to extend its systems into communities for customers to meet, plan, collaborate and work. MEI will replace today’s shallow sites, where users superficially link by common interest or crossed paths, with systems that manage the actual work product and their requisite workflows in addition to the social aspects of online communities.
The company seeks to accelerate the rollout of this vision through external funding. Additional capitalization will be used primarily to expand the manufacturing, sales, marketing, business development, customer success and the reseller network.
TruEdit is a multi-product, cloud-based system that enables small- to medium-sized workgroups to structure the production and management of projects for multiple channels, including web, tablet, mobile and print. TruEdit provides document management and tracking of work-in-progress content. It leverages industry-standard desktop applications and web-based administration coupled with dynamic cloud storage and file syncing to provide easy-to-use, accessible-anywhere workflow for multi-channel output.
TruEdit seamlessly connects all team contributors throughout the production process. Two-way integration with the most widely used tools lets designers create layouts in InDesign while writers develop copy in Microsoft Word. MEI recently introduced TruEdit 2.0 with TruAuthor, MEI’s web-based solution for native HTML5 authoring and responsively designed content. Additionally, MEI introduced support for Adobe InCopy for bi-directional editing-to-fit.
