The thinking behind My London Girl (“MLG”) is based on the personal experience and tastes of the owners’ two daughters and their friends as they grew up in north-west London. The concept of matching dolls and doll’s clothing with girls and girl’s clothing is based on a variant of the US retailer American Girl – see www.americangirl.com – which operates from multiple large outlets and concessions in North America and on-line. MLG is however more fashion and design-focussed reflecting the cosmopolitan and contemporary image of London as a leading world city.
Trading commenced in store at Westfield London (the UK’s premier shopping centre) in September 2011 and on-line in December 2011. We sell a range of 13 standing dolls (46cm), 11 girls and 2 boys, plus 4 baby dolls, each with different hair and eye colours and varying skin tones reflecting the cosmpolitan nature of UK society and those visiting London from overseas. We also provide matching clothing and accessories for dolls girls aged from 3 months up to 16 years plus a range of doll furniture and other toys
Additional capital of up to £250,000 is now being sought to increase our sales channel both in UK and abroad, strengthen our marketing and support product development.
