Afro-Grains East Africa (AGEA) is the brain-child of two local entrepreneurs , Michael M. Kedenge and David M. Okoth who both shared a vision for provision of professional grain handling and commodity trading. It was established in the Year 2009.

At that time, these gentlemen identified a need within the agricultural community for a reliable and responsive collection and marketing organization to serve both farmers ,relief organisations and grain processors throughout the region. This entrepreneurial nature remains paramount in the mind-set, culture and strategic outlook that AfroGrains East Africa retains today.
Afrograins East Africa has specialized in discovery, preparation and marketing of a host of grain products with an initial concentration on corn as the base commodity to chart our growth. We believe that by providing straightforward and well informed marketing intelligence from source while consistently demonstrating flexibility and agility in trade execution we can build on our ever growing reputation as one of the nation’s premier, independently owned grain trading companies. This perspective allows us to constantly build value for customers through price discovery, market knowledge, logistical expertise and risk management.
The commodities that we currently source, store and market in various capacities, include whole grains such as corn(Maize), wheat and rice, and oilseeds such as soya and sunflower and seed cakes for animal feed ingredients. Through carefully identified partnerships we are able to provide a reasonably efficient logistics service that allows us to arrange transportation and delivery for customers in a cost-effective and reliable manner. The combination of these things represents a full suite of services to get our customers’ goods from where they are to where they need to be. Since we are involved in every step of the process, we are able to drive operational efficiencies, speed time to market, reduce risk and lower overall costs for our customers.
