Project details
Our project will be starting off relatively small with the intent of sending a custom modified weather balloon as far up as we can. First Goal is to clear 110,000 feet, (20.8 miles.) Capturing fantastic pictures/video using a lens that will not distort the image in anyway, giving a true representation of what the earth looks like from the edge of Space. This will also provide valuable data for the 2nd and more adventurous launch.
Primary goals
The primary goal is to create a non profit team with the aim of capturing incredible footage of from the edge of Space. With your support through this Kickstarter we will be able to fund the project. Within the first 10 days we will have a website active, enabling us to speak to everyone who helped raise funds and for you to add your own ideas. We don’t only welcome donations but also welcome ideas on how we could take things to the next level. More members on the team mean greater things can be achieved.
Why do we need a Kickstarter?
Even though we have some personal funding, we don’t have a great amount of funding. All the help we receive with funding will go entirely towards the project and all ideas will be put forward to the project.
If Kickstarter goals are over achieved, that would allow us to raise goals and allow us to hire experts in the desired fields.
Risks and challenges.
Our main challenges we will be expecting is wind calculation and the parachute not opening. Everything else we have had some experience in. Before the release of the modified weather balloon, multiple testing sessions would of took place to minimise any potential errors.
