This project is part of a much larger innovation project in Rose Hill called ERIC (Energy Resources for Integrated Communities). ERIC puts Rose Hill at the leading edge of localised renewable energy generation.
Bioregional is working with a consortium of partners including Moixa technology, Oxford Brookes University, Council, Oxford City ReEnergise, SSE PD and British Gas.
ERIC is bringing solar PV power and smart energy storage to 75 homes and a new community centre in Rose Hill. Project ERIC is part-funded by Innovate UK.
As part of ERIC, Bioregional has been leading on community engagement and household recruitment. It has delivered a host of community workshops, including community energy and DIY solar panel building workshops in the local Rose Hill primary school, with Year 5s.
Bioregional have developed a strong relationship with teachers, the head teacher and pupils at Rose Hill Primary School, all of whom are very supportive of this project.
Anyone who pledges £50 or more will be invited to the grand opening of the new classroom
