Expanding to China: Opportunities to Leverage Relationship
IT FORUM GOLD COAST BREAKFAST SPONSORSHIP
The IT Forum Gold Coast (ITFGC) is the largest, most influential IT-industry focused not-for-profit association on the Gold Coast having been established for over 18 years.
Recognised by Federal, State and Local government as the peak ICT industry on the Gold Coast, it plays an essential role in supporting the community through the delivery of knowledge, expertise, collaboration and opportunities, to build the knowledge economy for today and tomorrow.
It aims to provide IT and ‘digital’ experts, consultants, business owners, professionals, and students with relevant and informative technical workshops and events, publications, networking, career development and up-skilling opportunities for its members, so they have the necessary skills and expertise to continually adapt and grow in an ever-changing digital world and economy.
This breakfast event is specifically for those micro- to small businesses who are interested in expanding globally, specifically to China.
Australia Week in China (2016) was the largest business mission ever organised by Austrade consisting of almost 1000 delegates from around 750 companies. AWIC 2016 focused on forging business linkages, building the bilateral relationship with our largest trading partner and demonstrating Australia as a trusted trade, investment, education and tourism partner with China.
Emma Wallace, Coordinator of Economic Development (GC2018 Trade and Investment), attended on behalf of the City of Gold Coast. Emma will share with us the outcomes from AWIC and how Gold Coast businesses and entrepreneurs can leverage from the networks and insights gained from the trade mission.
Our case study is by Glenn Ayrton, CEO of Asia Pacific Language & Business Institute, who will cover important success factors when negotiating and working with Chinese investors and cross cultural teams including tips on crucial cultural, business and social expectations of Chinese clients.
