Send Makenzie to 2017 Deaflympics at Samsun, Turkey
USA Deaf Track and Field proudly selected Makenzie Hageman to the 2017 USA Deaflympics Track and Field Team to compete at the XXIII Deaflympics in Samsun, Turkey from July 18-30, 2017. Makenzie has met our rigorous criteria, which consists a qualifying standard based on the averaged results of the 5th place finishes from the previous 2 Deaflympics (2009 and 2013). Makenzie will compete in 100m, 200m and relays. The Athlete Criteria “A” can be found on our homepage, www.usadtf.org.
Unfortunately, we do not get any financial support from our government or the U.S. Olympic Committee. We have to depend on private sector fundraising to send athletes to the Deaflympics.
Many of the athletes have school, work, family AND training hard. It is a heavy burden to shoulder. We would love to see them showcasing their skills and talents at highest level of performance.
First thing first. The first step towards the 23rd Deaflympics would be our training camp from June 21 to 26, 2016 at Gallaudet University in Washington, D.C.
Each athlete has to raise $635 to cover meals/lodging, fees. insurance, uniforms, facility fees and trainer fee.
Gallaudet University has a state of art 8 lane track, throwing cage and circles, runways and high jump/pole vault pits.
People like YOU can help our athletes greatly by making a donation. USA Deaf Track and Field, INC is a non-profit organization with 501-c-3 status.
All funds will go directly to USA Deaf Track and Field bank and the funds will be handled by USADTF officers ensuring no violation may occur.
Support YOUR USA athlete!
Thank you in advance.
