It’s time!
Hey! It’s Jacky here and I am extremely happy to say that it is finally happening. I am going to release my first ever album! I am about a year late, as I wanted to release it last summer in the form of a home-recorded collection of the songs I had written until that point.
However, I am glad that the little perfectionist in me was never happy with what I wrote until recently, which resulted in me working on 8 new compositions throughout the year.
After I was pleased enough with the songs to record them, I gave up the home recording plan and went to the studio to achieve the best possible sound. There will be 4 instrumentals and 8 songs including vocals on the album, so all in all 12 tracks. The acoustic guitar is mostly in focus. However, I also played a few other instruments such as guzheng, violin and electric guitar to add a few more colours to my painting.
All of the songs are recorded BUT it is still a long way from the studio to your ears, as the life of a young, independent musician is anything but easy. The studio has to be paid, physical copies have to be produced, the artwork-artist has to be paid, and the packages have to arrive in your mailbox, right? I don’t have a label, which means that I don’t have any financial support.
Here is where you can help me out. You can preorder the album now so that once we reach 100% of my goal I can use that money to finish the album, produce everything and ship it out to you!
If you can afford to help a little more, there are also some other goodies for purchase, such as T-shirts, artwork, capos, guitar lessons and more, which will help me reach my goal.
If you can’t even afford the pledge for the digital download at the moment, you can still help me by sharing this website with your friends and families. I am grateful for every form of support!
Thanks to everyone that has supported me so far and encouraged me to record this album! I am very pleased with the result so far and am looking forward to sharing it with you!
All the best,
Jacky
Jacky Bastek is a singer-songwriter and fingerstyle guitarist from
Eppstein, Germany. Jacky’s progressive sound stems from a wide
variety of influences, forming a genre hopping, innovative style. Her
method of creating rhythm through tapping and beating her guitar,
seamlessly blended with her haunting, elegant vocals creates the
illusion of an entire band through a singular artist.
Although she is widely known for her complex fingerstyle
compositions, her musical journey began at the age of six when she
began to study classical violin.
By the age of 13, Jacky found she was increasingly interested in the world of rock music, and began to teach herself guitar. Unable to join a band, she began composing original songs and accompanying them with her own vocal talents.
Her interest in fingerstyle guitar was first peaked in 2012, after watching Mike Dawe’s “Boogie Shred” on Youtube. Only a few short weeks later she attended her first Jon Gomm concert, listening to songs such as “Passionflower” and “Afterglow” which would forever leave an impression on her own music style.
She would later have the opportunity to meet with Mike Dawes in person, taking lessons in the art of fingerstyle. She has since joined him for a show on his Spring 2015 tour of Germany.
In 2014 Jacky played her first live shows, inspiring her to begin posting her music online. Her entry to the “Lowden Young Guitarist Competition 2014” attracted immediate attention, gaining over 100,00 views within its first week online. Her recent video of original song “No Exit” has gained even wider popularity, reaching 3 million views through Facebook within two weeks of being posted.
Jacky’s career is set to go nowhere but up from here. She has since toured and played in Germany, England, Sweden, and the Czech Republic.
She plans to release her Debut album, Idylls, in summer of 2016.
“Inspiring and shows her versatility as a player…” – Taylor Guitars
aking over the internet…. So happy to see people sharing the
output of a genuinely talented individual…” – Mike Dawes
Gorgeous vocals on top of pretty sick arrangement. Now that’s.
