Zenos Cars
Thrilling and affordable sports cars from a management team with experience at Caterham and Lotus Cars.
Norfolk, United Kingdom
Zenos Cars designs, manufactures and retails contemporary, lightweight, high performance, affordable & innovative sports cars.
Funded to date by over £2m of investment from SEIS and EIS investors including the Pembroke VCT fund, Zenos – whose senior management team brings significant expertise from Caterham and Lotus Cars – has already designed, developed and launched three models, the E10, E10 S and E10 R. Zenos set out to build a car starting at a launch price point of just under £25,000 and has achieved this aim. The products have been engineered within budgeted costs, which is a significant achievement for a first time car company.
Since the start of production in January 2015, finished cars have been steadily delivered to customers both in the UK and overseas. By the end of 2015, Zenos has built over 50 cars.
Zenos have begun production of the higher powered E10 R derivative, which was publicly shown for the first time at the Autosport International Show in January 2016. In addition, Zenos aims to produce an MSA-approved competition variant suitable for racing in various motorsport championships, both in the UK and overseas.
An award winning and innovative hybrid chassis forms the basis for the Zenos sports car platform. It is strong and light, combining an extruded aluminium spine with a carbon fibre tub that uses recycled material to deliver a significant proportion of the mechanical performance of virgin carbon fibre at much lower cost. From this flexible architecture Zenos aims to extend the product range to at least 3 further cars leveraging the investment already made in “Platform Zenos”.
In addition to developing Platform Zenos, the team has also established a quality manufacturing system at its UK based production facility, a strong and flexible supply chain with British suppliers and the beginnings of an international distribution network.
To assist with its growth strategy, Zenos has brought together a Board with substantial experience of building and financing companies, including Chairman John Hughes CBE who is currently Chairman of a number of UK plcs and former President of the Historic Motor Sport Commission. John is joined by (amongst others) Gordon Watling, Chief Executive Officer of mission critical communications infrastructure company Sepura plc.
Various international investors and individuals have backed Zenos, ranging from Pembroke VCT, the family office of Ronald Lauder and actor Hugh Grant. They all share a passion for sports cars.
Please note that the E11 print will only be available upon release of the designs.
