Provia Laboratories is the creator of the Store-A-Tooth™ program, a revolutionary new way to store the invaluable, disease-fighting cells found in baby teeth, wisdom teeth, and teeth removed for orthodontia so they can be used to treat your child later in life.
Mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs) found in bone marrow are used and being studied to treat a wide range of diseases, but extracting bone marrow is difficult and painful. Luckily, those same type of cells (MSCs) are found in teeth.
Stem cells are changing the way we treat disease, and Store-A-Tooth is the safest, easiest, most pain-free path to safeguarding your child against future disease.
Stem cells are changing the world of medicine. Mesenchymal Stem Cells, or MSCs, are particularly exciting in their potential: more than 300 studies (clinical trials) are going on right now to learn more about their potential applications, which are growing every day.
Why are MSCs so exciting?
They can multiply and morph into other types of cells, differentiating into solid tissue-type cells like bone, muscle, cardiovascular tissue and others.
That has huge implications for the treatment of some serious diseases:
MSCs are the subject of more than 300 ongoing clinical trials, with new applications for the cells surfacing all the time.
And since bone marrow can be compromised as you age or battle disease, by the time you need those cells, they may be of little use. Alternatively, finding a suitable donor may be difficult and/or require the use of dangerous anti-rejection medication.
Luckily, there’s a much simpler, safer and more effective way to harness the power of MSCs—collecting them early in life when they are readily available and healthy—and making them available for our children as they age.
MSCs can be found in baby teeth and wisdom teeth, so preserving these powerful cells can be as simple as mailing out those baby teeth once they’ve fallen out or when the wisdom teeth are extracted.
That’s precisely what Store-A-Tooth does. Simply send us your baby teeth in our medical-grade transport kit we provide, and through the Provia Laboratories Store-A-Tooth initiative, you can safeguard against future diseases, ensuring that these miracle cells are available to your child should they ever need their life-saving capabilities.
Store-A-Tooth
Preserving the incredible capabilities of MSCs consists of a little more than simply throwing those baby teeth in a kit and sending them in: if not handled swiftly and properly shortly after falling out or being extracted, the cells in the teeth die out, rendering them useless.
Provia’s Store-A-Tooth program brings medical-grade treatment to the storage and preservation of those teeth. Store-a-Tooth handles:
- Collection using Provia’s simple-to-use kit
- Transport in Provia’s temperature controlled kit
- Processing in Provia’s highly regulated cGMP state of the art facility
- Testing to ensure viable MSCs are present, functioning, and in large volume
- Cryopreservation in liquid nitrogen within a secure and tightly monitored facility
Imagine already having the regenerative power of your child’s own stem cells, a perfect genetic match, preserved in a state when the cells are young and healthy, ready and waiting should your child ever have the need for regenerative medicine therapies.
Store-A-Tooth is an investment in your child’s future health, and it’s already paying huge dividends for so many brave children.
Alexa
Georgia, a member of the Board of Directors of the Northwest Chapter of the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, is the mother of 15-year-old Alexa. Alexa has type 1 diabetes.
Gabriella
Claudia is the mother of Gabriella, a ten-year-old born with a congenital heart defect. By the time Claudia had learned of the potential of stem cells found in cord blood, it was too late to store those cells.
Years later, Claudia learned of MSCs and tooth storage.
Storing your child’s teeth with Store-A-Tooth is easy.
No one else does that.
For Adults, Too
Store-A-Tooth isn’t just for children: the life-saving stem cells found in baby teeth can also be found in wisdom teeth or teeth removed for orthodontia. Once they’re extracted, simply send the tooth off to us to insure your own future medical health.
It’s never been this easy to guard against future diseases. Store-A-Tooth is peace of mind.
After years of test marketing, and technology development, Store-A-Tooth is now a fully functioning program with thousands of client’s samples under management.
We’ve spent the past several years preparing to scale by mitigating key technical, regulatory and adoption risks. We also began building our intellectual property portfolio through a patent on the specimen storage container used to store biospecimens.
In our preparation, we’ve established a commercial relationship with a large life sciences company that will help us distribute Provia-processed donated stem cells to researchers, and we launched a 10,000-square-foot state-of-the-art cGMP manufacturing center to process and store our clients’ samples.
We’ve laid all the groundwork, and now it’s time to make the potentially life-saving benefits of MSCs available to the world.
