Lonsberry Engineering, LLC was founded in June, 2014 to provide companies with services and products in the advanced areas of engineering.
We are currently crowdfunding to raise capital to start a product line in the vinyl record industry.
Our proposed Vinyl Record Press fills a market void that has been developing since 2009. An upswing in vinyl record consumption in conjunction with a 40+ year drought of record production equipment leaves the industry unable to meet demand. A combination of part scarcity for aging equipment and high volume demands exemplified by yearly sales growth at nearly double digit pace, presents an opportunity for developing and manufacturing new equipment.
Sales for vinyl records in the U.S. have grown 260% from 2009 through 2014 and for year ending 2015, the sales increased by 28.2% over 2014 with revenue increasing by 32.2% over the same period.
A resurgence in popularity in the vinyl record industry is providing opportunities to develop machinery to both replace and augment aging vinyl equipment. Given the last machines produced are nearly forty years old, on average presses are far older. Long term wear induces high failure rates. A lack of replacement parts and a declining number of individuals capable of repairing these machines, makes it likely many of these antiquated machines will need to be replaced. Aside from aging equipment, the increase in demand alone stimulates the need for new production equipment
Andrew has 8 years of experience in a variety of different industries. The scope of his work includes object location in three dimensional space using ultrasonic’s for the purpose of fall prevention and detection of a bi-pedal, exoskeleton robot, mechanical design and finite element work in the manufacturing sector and extensive experience in programming and software development. He is fluent in programming Java, Matlab, C++ and Python to name just a few. His industrial experience includes Gear Manufacturing, CNC Grinder Manufacturing, and general machine design of fixturing, tooling and CNC coding.
Alexander specializes in robotics, machine learning, dynamical systems, and mechanical design. He has a diverse portfolio of work including development of novel 3D computer vision algorithms to identify and estimate pose in cluttered or partially occluded environments, development of learning algorithm to detect and control errors for 3D printing with metals, and design and vibrations analysis of heavy fixtures for industrial grinding. He also has experience in developing custom database software built with novel learning and data mining algorithms.
With 33 years of experience, Ken offers a well-balanced knowledge base that can effectively bring projects from the design phase up through production start-up. A graduate engineer with two patents, he has owned his own company and has held various executive management positions in both the engineering and operations environment. Ken has an extensive background in design and manufacturing engineering, manufacturing processes and has a thorough understanding of Lean Manufacturing.
Ken specializes in the fields of Computational Fluid Dynamics and Finite Element Analysis. He has expertise in software engineering utilizing several programming languages such as C, C++, MATLAB, java, and many others. He has contributed to the mechanical design of products with extensive background in mechatronics, systems engineering, manufacturing using manual and CNC mills, Solid Works, and Mastercam. Ken is extremely competent with positive and negative mold design for use with construction of carbon fiber components.
