US Domestic M&A at Lowest Quarterly Share Since Q3 2008
US domestic M&A has declined 50% to $170.5bn on Q1 2015 ($338.8bn), the third lowest Q1 volume in 10 years after $139.9bn in 2012 and $142.7bn in 2010. Volume accounts for 64% share of total US targeted M&A, the lowest share since Q3 2008 (58%). The average quarterly share is 83% over the last five years

So far in 2016, US targeted M&A volume has fallen 36% on Q1 2015 ($415.4bn) to $266.4bn, and only down 6% on the average of the last five Q1 volumes ($282.4bn). However, volume is down quarter-on-quarter by 68% from the record high set in Q4 2015 ($821.0bn), marking the biggest quarterly drop on record
