It helps families plan better days out as they know what they’re spending their money on and also helps businesses talk to the lucrative family market by engaging the kids’ point of view via user generated content.

KidRated provides a solution for both parents and businesses. For parents: All our reviewers are children and they use a universally understandable scoring system, so parents can see if their children will also enjoy the attraction or event. Video and photographs convey the emotion of the experience and verify the reviews.
We build trust by providing the KidRated seal of approval.
For Businesses: Users’ authentic content helps to market the experience. Authentic content leads to higher engagement and increased conversions. We speak directly to their target audience.

PROBLEM SOLVED

It is a huge headache for parents to find new and inspiring things to do with kids within budget, and to be sure their family will enjoy the experience. Children are currently not engaged in the online decision-making process and existing sites are text heavy & uninspiring.
For Businesses: The family market is competitive and it’s difficult for businesses to talk directly to families. There’s a need for rich and authentic content for them to market to families.

REVENUE MODEL

Advertising/sponsorship on our site & our newsletter. Our content provides native advertising for brands, which is 70% more engaging, 53% more viewed and has 60% higher conversion than banner advertising.

Subscription model – we charge attractions an annual subscription for their page on our website linked to traffic.

Content partnerships – we make and repackage our content to be sponsored & syndicated.

Brand association – the KidRated brand to be a trusted seal of approval for families & can be licensed.

Kids’ (data) insight: we have already been paid to carry out market research by Levy Restaurants, part of the Compass Group as we can leverage the children’s point of view.

EXIT STRATEGY

Founders are wholly committed to this project. However, we recognise there is a possible trade sale exit in 3 – 5 years, to a company like Yelp or TripAdvisor who are steadily requiring review sites in Europe and spent over £300million in 2014-15 on aquisitions in France, Germany and the UK.
