Aksie: Female Defense

Sometimes I’m afraid to go out

This is a phrase that our team hears every class from women that are afraid for their safety and scared to go out at night or around unfamiliar places.

Our Female Self-Defense program came up after one of our friends was attacked on the streets. We realized that if she knew simple martial art techniques, she could have avoided the risk or defended herself in such situation. So we started sketching some tips and ended up developing a complete cycle of self-defense lessons for violence prevention and self-defense, in which we focus on the psychological preparation, as well as physical and emotional abilities to prevent any aggression.

Our training includes the following topics:

  • Security strategies on the streets
  • Techniques against any retention grip
  • Defensive discouragement of an aggressor
  • Escape from floor struggling
  • Disarm and submit of an aggressor

We already reached more than 150 women with extraordinary outcomes, and we are looking to expand our reach even more. That’s why we need you!

The money will be destined to buy all necessary elements to improve our lessons and to start advanced trainings, being a long –term investment for us, since our goal is to reach more than 400 women this year. These elements include:

  • Floor Tiles (Tatami)
  • Uniforms for the team
  • Striking pads
  • Training Knifes
  • MMA Gloves,
  • Sparring pads
  • Striking shields

After meeting this first mid-ambition we are going to invest directly on women sponsorship. For every 500ARS (33USD) collected, one woman will participate in the lesson cycle for free.

Thanks to your donations, we are fighting directly against insecurity and violence, helping those who need it most.

These cycles will start in May, and will be delivered in public spaces or using the locations of our benefactors and allied organizations. This places may be parks, Community Spaces, NGO spaces or any space lend by the other institutions that support us. The lessons are held on Saturdays and with your support we will be able to start our program on business days, opening the possibility to reach out to a larger audience.

Your contribution could save lives!

If we don’t reach the 100% of the funding goal, we will use it to do the following:

  • With the 10%

When we reach the 10% we will invest in buying the elements we need for the lessons. This includes but is not limited to: Tatami Tiles, uniform for our team and instructors, Striking pads, training knifes, MMA gloves and sparring pads.

  • With the 25%

When we reach to 25% we will be able to acquire the elements we need for the lessons and grant full scholarship to 15 women for the basic cycle of our program

  • With the 50%

When we reach to 50% we will be able to acquire the elements we need for the lessons and grant full scholarship to 25 women for the basic cycle of our program

  • With the 75%

When we reach to 75% we will be able to acquire the elements we need for the lessons and grant full scholarship to 40 women for the basic cycle of our program!!
