On February 8th, 2015 the Toledo hockey community lost one of its greatest treasures.Ken “Sap” Miller passed away unexpectedly from cardiac arrest at the young age of 59.He was the lifeline of the Team Toledo Ice House which he had co-owned since 2002.He worked tirelessly to make the rink a nurturing environment for hockey players of all ages.He was a father figure to every kid that walked into that rink, but first to his two sons:Ken Jr. and Kelly Miller. With the endless support of his loving wife, Michelle, Sap made it his life’s work to keep youth hockey thriving in Toledo through the Team Toledo Ice House. His dream was to someday be able to replace the old, often broke down, Zamboni with a new, reliable one.
Through the efforts of everyone whose life Sap has touched, with the blessing of his family, we are going to fulfill his dream and buy the Team Toledo Ice House a new Zamboni in memory of Ken “Sap” Miller.
We are counting on the strong family bond the sport of hockey is famous for to help support our cause. Please share and make Sap’s dream come true!
