Award winning songwriter, record producer David Courtney, in association with The National Football Museum, has written & produced a single entitled ‘On the Wings of Destiny‘(Spirit of 66) an Anthemic, Rousing & inspirational track to commemorate the 50th anniversary of England winning the 1966 World Cup. Heroes from the 66 team will be among the first names to be immortalised in bronze on the world’s first ‘FOOTBALL WALK OF FAME’ to be located outside Manchester’s National Football Museum in Cathedral Square Manchester in June this year.
The single sleeve has been created by legendary sports artist Paul Trevillion creator of ‘You Are the Ref’, one of the original artists of the classic ‘Roy of the Rovers’ and will be creating the plaque images for the FOOTBALL WALK OF FAME.
Proceeds from sales will be donated to two charities. Sir Bobby Charlton’s charity ‘Find a Better Way’ is a major funding body for vital, ground breaking technology research into improving the tools available for the safe detection and removal of landmines and explosive remnants of war. The second charity will be the world’s first Football Walk of Fame, a permanent ‘free to view’ tribute to the global icons of international football which will be established in Cathedral Square Manchester. Among the first to be inducted will be the members of the 1966 England team as part of the 50th anniversary celebrations on June 24th 2016.
Join us in this landmark celebration and help make this record a great success and support such a worthy cause.
