My students need funding for their field trip to Moody Gardens this end of year 2016.
It is a pleasure teaching reading to my bilingual 2nd graders. Every day is a chance to explore new ideas and to analyze amazing stories in our lessons and in our stations. My students’ goal is to improve their reading level by 3 or more areas.”Your mountain is waiting, so get on your way!”-Dr.Seuss
I have the great opportunity to teach my second-grade bilingual students.
They are very sweet, curious, and scholarly. Our school is a Title 1 school, eager and motivated to create a successful learning institution. We are a pretty large campus, ranging from Pre-K to 5th grade. In addition, it is diverse in many aspects, including socioeconomic status.
My students are going to a field trip to Moody Gardens the end of the school year 2016. They will participate in an educational program where they can learn more about the aquatic habitats and apply the information to expository writing. Part of our language arts curriculum focuses on developing great writers, and once the students master or continue to develop their writing, they will be even better readers. So, they will be on a search for 3 aquatic animals they would like to find more research on, and write at many facts as possible, so when they return to school they are ready to draft and create their nonfiction book.
Some of our students are not fortunate enough to provide basic tools such as school supplies in the classroom, nevertheless be able to pay their ticket to somewhere like Moody Gardens.
This is why I’m asking for a donation, funding that will help them have a wonderful learning experience and create memories for their childhood.
