Team Freedom is running it’s 20th Spring Lake 5 mile race over Memorial Weekend 2016. We have a simple mission, which is to remember the true meaning of Memorial Day. To reinforce our mission, each year, we have raised money for veteran causes, raising tens of thousands of dollars to assist those who have served and who are now in need. This year, we are assisting our local disabled American veterans chapter in Asbury Park, NJ. In order to become a member of the DAV, one must have been wounded, gassed, injured or disabled in the line of duty during time of war, while in the service, and who has not been dishonorably discharged. The local Asbury Park chapter is relatively new and is in need of a vehicle to transport disabled veterans to medical facilities. For our 20th year, we have set a goal to raise $20,000 to help this chapter purchase a van that can transport disabled veterans to medical appointments, as many can no longer drive. Please join us in supporting those who have been wounded or injured in service to our nations and ensure they can get the medical attention they deserve.
