Disability Bus for hospitalized Canadian Military Veterans

By Royal Canadian Legion Br. # 6 Moncton NB Canada

The Royal Canadian Legion Br. 6 was established to help veterans, their families and other seniors. We also supply bursaries, money to winners of Remembrance Day Contest Youth leadership help to Vets health Care Unit for equipment and other needs

But there’s a problem

The Veterans Home have a bus but it is 16 years old and needs to be mothballed. We need to raise sufficient funds to purchase a bus that can carry up to six wheel chairs and have five individual seats to spare.

Here’s what we’re doing about it

We the committee have a mandate to raise the funds in the name of the Royal Canadian Legion Br. # 6 Moncton NB Canada. We are contacting local businesses and government for help with the project. This project is intended to help our Canadian Military Veterans who are hospitalized in a veterans home. We need financial help to buy the bus.

This project will make a difference as we will be able to safely transport the veterans to and from schools, Veterans Memorial Ceremonies and social events as needed. They are a wonderful group of heroes’.

You can join us in this effort as we need approximately $100,000.00 for the purchase of the new bus which will allow us to convert the bus and accommodate up to six wheel chairs and five other handicapped veterans.

The maintenance. warranty and fuel for this vehicle will be maintained by others and we have that commitment. Drivers are volunteer Legion members and RCAF Association Wing Moncton members.
