Dance Days of Buffalo is a three day festival, dedicated entirely to the celebration of dance. This event, set for August 5, 6 and 7th 2016, will feature artists from throughout the region representing diverse styles of dance through classes, performances & more. There will be special events held throughout the weekend, designed to educate the public about dance and create opportunities for every participant.
The mission of Dance Days of Buffalo is to support the appreciation, performance and knowledge of dance and movement practices in the Buffalo area. The event will serve to promote dance as an expressive and unifying art form, connecting artists from across genres. Both the experienced dancer and general public alike will be welcomed to enjoy classes, networking events and performances by artists throughout the region. The event will be dedicated to the inclusion of all members of the dance community and is committed to honoring the diverse population, united by a passion for dance. Dance Days of Buffalo will empower and support the growth of both the individual and the Buffalo arts community as a whole.
What does this campaign support?
1. Space rental costs and insurance (these are expensive!). First thing’s first, we need space to dance and we need to be insured! Funds raised will first go toward covering these costs.
2. Dance teachers! The dedicated teachers that will be traveling from near and far, need to be compensated for their time and efforts in teaching a quality class. We want to be sure that local dancers have the opportunity to take classes from dancers based out of Chicago, NYC, Detroit, Pittsburgh & more! And that means lodging and travel expenses, too.
3. Publicity. We need to get the word out! Between graphic design, printing costs, ad space and postage we are looking at a large part of our funding going towards making sure that we reach the most critical demographics. We hope this event will put Buffalo on the map as a place for dance!
4. On site accommodations for attendees. We need to be sure we have the equipment and resources we need to organize a top-quality event, and one that can repeat itself for many years to come.
If you believe in me, believe in this project and believe in the Buffalo dance community, please consider joining us with a generous gift. Your contribution is essential in making this festival reach its fullest potential. Financial support is crucial, in order to provide the arts community with the top quality event that they deserve.
