Anesco South West Renewables is the first project on Abundance from Anesco, one of the biggest renewables businesses currently operating in the UK and recently recognised as one of the world’s top 100 CleanTech companies for a 3rd year running.
Anesco South West Renewables is offering an effective rate of return of 7% over the 6 year life of the project, through a Fixed Return Debenture.
This project is a mix of technologies already installed and generating electricity, heat and savings, which is predominantly domestic biomass boilers installed in 93 housing association homes in Devon and Cornwall but also includes energy efficiency measures and 7 solar installations on commercial sites in the Home Counties.
Anesco South West Renewables plc has provided a range of renewable energy and energy saving measures to a number of customers for which it receives revenues. These come largely from 2 housing associations who pass through payments from the Government’s Renewable Heat Incentive, plus some FiTs from 7 PV systems it owns and payments from energy savings, all of which then go towards paying investor returns.
The project is looking to raise a minimum of £100,000 and up to £495,000 to refinance the cost of installing the measures. Anesco will be using the funds to bring more energy efficiency projects to life. Anesco South West Renewables is a 6 year project and you receive an equal portion of your capital back each 6 months – that’s around 17% of what you invested, plus income, per year.
In the UK we have a target to generate 15% of our total energy consumption from renewables by 2020. This means we must focus not only on new generation of electricity but also heat and reducing our consumption. The mix of technologies and measures in Anesco South West Renewables shows the many ways we can go about this.
Anesco installs biomass boilers for those housing association tenants who want it free of charge to replace oil boilers. They provide ongoing maintenance and support to make the switch as easy as can be. The LED lighting, insulation and aircon installed across Westward Housing Group sites are saving the company money because of the energy savings being made. And the solar has been installed free of charge to businesses and a Foundation, helping them all to go green.
