Teach a Veteran to Fish

by Christopher Hicks

The mission of this Kickstarter Project is direct and simple. I want to provide veterans a tool to find gainful employment.

About this project

This project is focused on helping veterans find gainful employment. Per Kickstarter Rules: I am offering a $25 reward that outlines a 1-1 reward. You receive a book and one is given to a veteran. No money raised during this project will be donated to charity.

The book that is the focus of this project is called “I’m Busy…” A Simple Guide to Identifying, Qualifying and Selling to Prospects. The book is 67 pages long and can be read in a weekend. The concept is that a veteran can be handed this book on a Friday to read and be prepared for an interview on a Monday.

Many veterans are placed into interviews for roles such as sales after returning from combat. This book will enable veterans to be more knowledgeable about not only sales, but basic business as well. This book is a powerful tool that will help veterans understand more about what skill sets are required in a sales role.

The objective is to place as many books in as many veterans hands as possible. The end goal is to help as many veterans secure gainful employment as possible across the United States.

Risks and challenges

I have taken a look at how much a book costs and how much each book costs to ship. Additionally, I have placed realistic timeframes for book shipment, taking into account that this is print to order. A book order may take a month to fulfill from the publisher.
