A fashion forward brand dedicated to solidifying the future of American Manufacturing.
At Hanger & Cloth we want to contribute to the FUTURE of American production and manufacturing, eventually starting a facility of our own. We aren’t trying to re-invent the wheel, we know American Made is something that has been done, but that’s not our complete focus.
We need to give the apparel industry more American Made options, different perspectives, and new designs in order to secure a FUTURE for this movement, not just turn into a fad.
Hanger & Cloth focuses on quality without compromise and boasts confidence through the wearer, invoking a feeling of an honest, simple, and modern lifestyle.
What we’ve done is combine our love and passion for seasonal apparel and mixed it with the desire to see American manufacturing continue to grow and last.
The best part is, this is happening whether large corporations like it or not. Americans are becoming more aware and prideful of what we choose to purchase and wear daily. Americans want long lasting, we want comfort, and we want to see manufacturing facilities expand.
Purchasing american made is more than just buying pieces of clothing, it’s an investment. An investment of integrity and pride.
With both men’s and women’s apparel, there’s something for anyone who wants to contribute to our cause.
On top of creating these pieces, we’ve established some really awesome collaboration pieces that are exclusive to our brand and to our Kickstarter campaign.
Collaborations:
Jamie Jordan of PaperWEIGHT Design Studio in Jacksonville, FL
PaperWEiGHT design studio is a design boutique and letterpress studio that began in 2012. PW focuses on the handcrafted designs and letterpress but from time to time will incorporate her current obsessions into mix such as screenprinting, weaving, photography, woodcraft. She works side by side with her partner, Miguel Emmanuelli.
Miguel Emmanuelli, Photography, Jacksonville, Fl
Miguel Emmanuelli is a Jacksonville based photographer. Started out as a fine art photographer back in 2001 and started a business in the commercial world in 2012.
Sara Brady and Ashley Cornil of Kin/ K in San Francisco, CA
Sara and Ashley design and craft these unique pieces based on their experiences from travel, providing both functionality and style.
This collaboration that is exclusive to our brand. With a solid black leather strap, and a neutral color, “Silver Sand”, this piece can be worn by both men and women. Because it pairs so perfectly with our Heritage Pocket Tee, we will be including one in the color of your choice with each hat pledge.
(Show Kin/ K hat reward here, maybe a little bio about the girls, telling our backers why these hats are so special.)
Releasing a new collection every quarter of the year and collaborating with other brands will ensure that you always see new designs.
Not only do we want to grow the Made in USA market, but we want to start off the right way by using organic fabrics like bamboo, and mild dyes in order to reduce our carbon footprint.
With our pieces, the collaborations, and your support we can secure American manufacturing and design new collections for us all to enjoy.
First, it’s extremely important to note that we are working on placing larger orders for all of our pieces in order to lower our prices as much as possible, while still maintaining reasonable wages for our employees. At this moment all of our orders are small batch, which makes it hard for us to compete with other larger American Made brands and their pricing.
Every single bit of the funding we receive from Kickstarter goes directly into the future of Hanger & Cloth. Our ultimate goal is to eventually start our own manufacturing facility. Crafting our own pieces will allow for small batches while we get our feet off the ground, but at a competitive cost.
We have manufacturers ready for our orders to be placed. Pattern making, fabric selections, and everything in-between has been taken care of. Now we just need your help to reach our goal.
While creating this brand, we have met some truly talented individuals.
*****Our women’s pieces are meant to be a “draped” fit, so they may seem over sized on the chart, but are true to size for the look.
Models sizes for reference:
Ashley (Blonde): 5’4 Wears small-medium
Bonnie (Redhead): 5’8 Wears small-medium
Andrew (Blonde): 5’10 Wears medium
Luis (Dark Hair): 5’9 Wears medium
Hat Crown Sizing in inches:
S – 6 7/8
The biggest challenge we face is the cost of manufacturing here in the United States. In order for all parties involved in our project to receive fair wages our pieces will at the moment be priced differently than when we can place larger production orders.
Our biggest risk is maintaining a following full of people who trust in American quality and are willing to help push forward and bring back what it means to buy American Made. In order to continue with production and reach our goal of opening a storefront, we need all the help we can get through word of mouth and trust from our backers.
While we expect all of our rewards to be delivered to our backers by July, we will be completely transparent with our progress if there are any issues we run into along the way.
Constantly updating everyone on the deliveries is something we take very seriously.
