Grane is Brixco’s expansion vehicle, a small footprint, high margin/low labor scalable model with targeted growth into the airport channel, densely populated urban areas, and casinos.
Brixco, Inc. is offering Convertible Preferred Shares to expand Grane, its first-to-market Whiskey Dispensary and Craft Cocktail concept, to airports, densely populated urban areas, and casinos throughout the US. Brixco will also be opportunistic in expanding its other first-to-market brand, Brix, to key geographies including high traffic urban areas and suburban lifestyle centers.
Grane: Grane combines the growing affinity for whiskeys and craft cocktails with the modern, small-portion whiskey dispensing/sampling technology. A whiskey and craft cocktail concept that features technology allowing the customer to sample whiskey in .5oz, 1.0oz and 1.5oz portion sizes with a single venue located at Mutual of Omaha’s Midtown Crossing in Omaha.
Brix: Brix combines three complementary businesses under one roof – a wine, beer, and spirits retail store with a bistro and event center. Brixco currently operates two Brix locations in Omaha – at Village Pointe Shopping Center in the western suburbs and an urban location at Midtown Crossing
Headquartered in Omaha, NE and founded in May of 2009 by long-time wine and spirits industry executive Dan Matuszek, the goal of Brixco, Inc. is to develop both Grane and Brix into national-international brands using the experience of its initial test stores in Omaha. Grane Business Unit
The Grane brand is a first-to-market concept, one that combines the growing affinity for whiskeys and craft cocktails with the modern, small portion whiskey dispensing/sampling technology developed by WineEmotion – all packaged in the feel and decor of pre- and post-prohibition 1920’s and 30’s.
The Grane brand/concept is the first establishment in the world to dispense premium whiskeys through the WineEmotion dispensing system, offering small-portion samplings of brands in the exploding super premium ($30.00+ per bottle retail price) segment of the whiskey category. Grane also includes an extensive craft cocktail menu with more than 450 premium whiskeys available behind the bar, plus retail package sale of premium whiskeys.
With a brand positioning of “Prohibition meets Today”, Grane has an interior that reflects the 1920’s and 30’s era with technology that addresses the wants of today’s super premium spirits consumer.
Brix Business Unit
Marketed as “A Wine and Spirits Experience”, the Brix brand is synonymous with smart card-activated wine dispensing, allowing the consumer to purchase wine in 1 oz, 2.5 ox, or 5 oz portion sizes. With 64 wines by the ounce or glass at two locations. Brix is a destination for wine lovers- both novices looking to learn and more educated consumers looking to sample before purchasing. The WineEmotion wine dispensing machines are a critical component of what sets Brix apart from most restaurants and retail wine shops, though focus on the exploding craft beer segment, additional focus on the expanded bistro menu, and promotion of our vast selections of premium spirits brands also helps define the Brix brand now in its sixth year of operation.
Chief Executive Officer
With 28 years of experience in the wine and spirits industry, Dan has worked in all three tiers of the alcoholic beverage category – at the distributor/wholesale level, supplier level, and as a retailer store/restaurant owner. Recruited out of college by the E. & J. Gallo Winery in 1986, Dan began his career with Johnson Brothers Liquor Company, one of the leading wine and spirits distributors in the country. There he worked as a sales representative, District Manager, and Gallo Sales Manager before leaving the company in 1991 to work for the E. & J. Gallo winery where he held multiple regional and national positions; including Division Manager and National Director of Trade Marketing.
Chief Financial Officer
Chuck has been involved with the accounting and financial reporting for emerging companies in a variety of industries including retail, food service, restaurant, hospitality, medical, transportation and information technology. He has over 10 years of public accounting experience with Arthur Andersen & Co. and Seim Johnson in Omaha, was an Executive Director at Creighton University, and held various administrative roles at Werner Enterprises, a publicly traded trucking company also based in Omaha.
In 1994 Rick joined Bruegger’s Bagels as a District Manager, overseeing the opening of nine bagel bakeries in the Nebraska region. In 2000, Rick purchased five Bruegger’s Bagels from the franchise group he worked for and ran those as a franchisee until 2005 when the units were sold to Bruegger’s, Inc. After the sales of the five Bruegger’s Bagels locations, Rick became the Market Director for Bruegger’s Bagels in the Nebraska/Iowa region. Rick joined Brixco, Inc. in July of 2014 as the Director of Operations.
