Emerson College Quidditch is one of the oldest programs in the country, starting back in 2008 when some bored college students thought Quidditch would be a fun floor activity. Since then ECQ has been one of the most successful programs in the country, making the finals at World Cup III and semifinals at World Cup IV, the round of Sweet Sixteen at World Cups V and VI and making it all the way to the Final Four at World Cup VII. This year we return to the now renamed US Quidditch Cup 9 in Columbia, South Carolina, to continue the legacy of Emerson College Quidditch as a competitive Quidditch team.
Despite our success, ECQ has never received any funding from our school and our players must pay for everything out of pocket. It will cost at least $5,000 for us to compete at US Quidditch Cup 9, far beyond the means of us college students. We desperately need your support in order to make the costs of this trip manageable for us. Your contributions will go toward paying the costs of:
Tournament Registration Fee ($450)
Transportation from Boston to Columbia (approx $2000)
Hotels for the team for 3 nights (approx $1800)
Thank you so much for any and all help. This is an incredibly important trip for all of us and we have worked tirelessly waiting for the US Quidditch Cup to come. We truly cannot thank you all enough for helping us achieve our collective dream–we’ll make you proud.
