Hello Everyone! Thank you for visiting my YouCaring page to learn about how you can give books to the children of Home of the Innocents!
What you may or may not know about me is that I am a mom of two beautiful boys. My youngest was diagnosed with Autism at 18 months old. What I have learned in the months and years since, is that it truly takes special people to care for those with special needs. No one in our community meets those needs quite like the Home of the Innocents.
The Home of the Innocents is this region’s open arms for kids in crisis. The services The Home provides for these children include:
* Residential and community-based services to children who have been abused, abandoned, or neglected.
* A hospital-like home away from home environment for medically fragile children, children who are dependent on technology to sustain life, as well as children who are terminally ill.
* In-home and in-school support services are provided for children with autism and other behavioral issues.
Although the children they serve require various level of care, they are children first and children love to read!
That is why I am partnering with Usborne Books & More to run this book drive for the Home of the Innocents. Books not only expand our vocabularies and help us learn, but they can also provide an escape when we need it. These kids need it.
100% of the donations made towards this book drive will go towards buying children’s books from Usborne Books and More. Once donations reach over $250, Usborne will match the donations made 50%. So our goal of $500 will actually provide $750 in books for these children. Please help in whatever way that you can!
