Envirolution Festival 2016: A FREE community event

iCrowdNewswire - Jan 20, 2016

We need your support to host our sixth volunteer run FREE community festival in Platt Fields Park. We need funding for event structures, paying for workshops and performers and for promotion to tell all the lovely folk of Manchester.

We create a magical, interactive and engaging space in the Eco Garden next to the lake. There will be a parade of markets, food, information stalls, skill sharing, music and performers celebrating the best social and environmental organisations in the city and beyond. The trees will be swaying with handmade bunting, the 15ft Ganesh will be smiling down and the best of Manchester’s independent music scene will be entertaining thousands of people.

We want this to be the best event yet and we want to give all of Manchester to be part of making this years event happen. To get us all a step closer to creating the city that we all want to be part of.

What we’ll do:

  • Create the best community event in the city
  • Promote the city’s best community organisations
  • Educate people on environmental and social solutions

Why it’s a great idea:

The are a mountain of problems and issues facing every community in Manchester, especially the communities that do not have all the resources they need to help themselves. There is so many positive organisations who are working tirelessly to create a healthier and happy city. We create events that allow people to interact with these projects and for them to get the recognition they deserve.

Additionally, many of the problems we face are communicated to us through fear and pessimism. We see many of these problems are opportunities to create the communities that we really want to live in. The events are platforms to find out the different ways you can become part of and support the projects that mean the most to you.

Finally, we would all benefit from more chances to get out and meet our neighbours in open and funny environments. We create a playful event that you can come lose yourself in and get to know the people surround your everyday life.

How we’ll get it done:

  • Bring together the best projects in Manchester
  • Tell everyone about the event
  • Host the event in Platt Fields Park at the end of spring

£1000 will enable us to get all the equipment we need to host the event – marquees, toilets, sound
£2000 will give us extra covered space and bring in better quality performers and workshops. We will host a mini after party to say thank you to all our supports.
£5000 will allow us to buy our own circus-style tent and enable us to travel around the country and Greater Manchester to engage with more people. We will also through a huge after party to say thank you to all our wonderful supports
