That’s why I decided to give my own garage for this. During 2015 we were running together with new volunteers – Soña, Chris and Antonia – youth center in it. You can check the video they have created attached to the campaign. And it was a great success! Children were coming to us, they helped in decoration of the place and enjoyed a lot of things we were creating together. We were teaching them English words, numbers, songs, playing educational games, treasure hunting games, doing creative workshops on upcycling, travelling around the surroundings.
We would like to bring the level of the job, which we are doing together with my organization Egyesek, on the new level. For this we would like to buy a building in the village, that we don’t have to use my small garage for this. That more children from the village can join us. And that in the cold time of year we also have a place to provide our activities.
Help us to make the dream come true!
More about educational aspect of our programmes
Egyesek Youth Association has been working with local youth more than 8 years. Within the methods Egyesek uses – non-formal learning and learning by doing. At present our activity is focused on the non-formal personal development of youth and young adults, in Hungarian and international context. We organise youth exchanges, voluntary service programs, trainings for youth leaders and peer educators, summer camps and thematic weekends, as well as support volunteering which serves learning and personal development.
The number of young people having been directly involved so far is approx. 40 000. Several volunteer projects, TCs, exchanges were completed in these topics. We use and actively develop non-formal, experiential learning methods in our work, as well as we train youth workers to use them: approaches, methods and tools used in outdoor and adventure education, new media, art and culture, dance, sports, drama and theatre, creative recycling and community service learning.
Our aims:
– to involve youth into social actions, non-formal learning and international mobility opportunities
– to empower and support youth to act responsible for their communities
– to improve their life-skills
– to support them to reach professional success
