Thanks everyone for taking time to view my campaign.
My name is Sergiu Ciobanu, I’m 32 years old. When I was 22 I emigrated from Moldova to Ireland and joined Clonliffe Harriers A.C. I have competed with the club to win several national titles. I became an Irish citizen in Feb 2015 and represented Ireland for the first time at the European Cross Country Championship in France Dec 13 2015. My wife Eimear and I live in Clonmel co. Tipperary where I train daily mornings and evenings averaging around 100-120mile/week. I’m a qualified physical therapist and work part time. To compete against the world’s best I plan to take time off work and train full time which nowadays can be very expensive. I don’t get funding from any organisation and don’t know if I’ll get any but I have to plan my 2016 route to Rio.
The reason I have taken to PledgeSports is to raise funding which will go towards the cost of training camps abroad. The contributions will cover the cost of supplements, equipment, medical expenses, post training sessions recovery such cryo therapy etc. Living cost is also a factor here too.
My goal is to raise here 6000Eur to help me fund warm weather training camps in Feb and March, followed by altitude camps in May, June, July prior European Track and Field Championship and Olympic Games.
If, with your support, we could raise 6000Euro it would make a huge impact to my route to Rio and I would really appreciate your support in making this happen.
See you on the roads!
Sergiu Ciobanu
