The Defiant EV3 Roadster
We designed – from the ground up – an affordable electric Roadster for today’s commuter. Our sporty, three passenger Roadster has a daily range of up to 200 miles and can be completely recharged from any standard 120-volt outlet in about 8 hours while the commuter is at work. The Roadster’s “fuel” costs are less than two cents a mile and the classic “old school” look is unmistakable, eye catching, and guaranteed to turn heads! Based on the specifications recommended by the American Association of Motor Vehicle Administrators, our Roadster registers as a special class of motorcycle called an Autocycle.
Many people desire the driving experience to be fun and exhilarating. However, people are equally concerned about air pollution, global climate change, volatile gasoline costs, and personal safety. Our electric Roadsters meet environmental, economic, and personal needs. Take the top off and enjoy the wind in your face thrill of a motorcycle, with the safety of a racecar like protection system.
The backbone of the Defiant EV3 Roadster© is our custom designed body (Patent Pending). Our unique, three-wheeled, design means less rolling resistance at slow speeds and less aerodynamic drag at high speeds. We have a low center of gravity and a wide track that provides a very stable ride – with no more possibility of a rollover than you would expect in a typical car. Additionally, we have a racecar like roll bar protection system, seat-belts/shoulder harness, and front and rear crumple zones. Finally, the delta shape of the roadster helps avoid a direct head-on crash.
Most states are not going to require the driver and passengers to wear helmets, since even with the top removed, the occupants are protected by the roll bar and seatbelts/shoulder harnesses. The Autocycle is designed to handle like a typical car, uses a steering wheel, and has seats; a motorcycle driver’s license is typically not needed.
Our electric motor has instant starting torque available and provides on demand regenerative braking. While the motor is governed to prevent it from producing more than about 80 horsepower, the roadster is lightweight and aerodynamic, and the motor has plenty of power to push the Roadster to up to around 75 MPH.

Ø No Infrastructure Needed: Standard equipped Roadster re-charges in around 8 hours from a typical 120-volt outlet. This is a key benefit that sets us apart from the rest of the electric vehicles. No other electric vehicle, with our level of performance, can recharge in about 8 hours from a standard outlet. With optional Level ll charging, the Roadster re-charges in about half the time of a Nissan Leaf.
Ø Financing: Consumer loans available through a national bank.
Ø Service: Vehicle servicing via an established company with about 1000 locations in the United States and Canada.
Ø Pollution Free Vehicle: Even when the electricity to power the Roadster comes from the dirtiest coal powered plant – it is far cleaner than a typical gasoline car getting perhaps 25 miles per gallon. Most people don’t consider how much electric power is needed to produce one gallon of gas. Typically, it requires 6 to 8 kilowatt-hours just to refine one gallon of gas – not including the energy needed to get the crude oil out of the ground, transport it to the refinery, and then get the gasoline delivered to the corner station. The Defiant EV3 is very efficient and needs significantly less than 200 watt-hours of electricity to go a mile. (Think of leaving an old 100 watt light bulb on for ninety minutes – that’s about all the energy needed to drive the Roadster one mile!) This means that the Roadster can go 40 to 50 miles on just the electricity needed to produce one gallon of gas – and no additional CO2 is pumped to the atmosphere such as when the gas is burned as in a conventional car. At lower speeds, the Roadster gets the equivalent of around 200 miles per gallon.

All American Made
The Defiant EV3 Roadster© is made in America with quality parts sourced from around the world. A traditional car company ships the components to their factory from global sources, builds their cars in one centralized location, and then transports the finished cars throughout the United States. Unlike typical car companies, we will build the Defiant in local markets, employing local labor. For example, we expect to have three assembly factories just in California. Roadster manufacturing then becomes the instrument to fulfill consumer needs and a prosperity driver for the community! Everybody wins!
The Roadster will be available, factory direct, in the larger markets, as well as through a network of trained and qualified franchised distributors.
Nationwide Service Provider
Even with a number of decentralized assembly factories throughout the United States and Canada, there is a need for local service to be available. We are partnering with a nationally recognized automobile service provider that has about 1,000 locations in the US and Canada. Their skilled technicians will be trained to provide all routine services for the Roadsters.
Buying the Defiant EV3 Roadster
The Defiant EV3 Roadster© is not for everyone. As the saying goes, “We are not trying to be all things to all people.” We took a clean sheet of paper and designed our Roadster with the daily commuter in mind. The commuter car market demands a more economical electric vehicle; one that is capable of highway speeds – and not limited to just 25 MPH. Our primary market is a commuter living in or around a metropolitan area. Our high performance, Li-Ion powered, Roadster provides a superior driving experience; yet can be recharged in about 8 hours from any standard 120-volt outlet at home or at work. Level ll charging provides a complete recharge in about 3 hours.
Owning our Roadster is also about the convenience of: never having to stop for gas, needing fewer repairs, never feeling hot exhaust infiltrating your personal space, and never having to drive around looking for a Level ll Charger. Ninety percent people commute to work alone and drive less than 30 miles a day. They occasionally stop and pick up a few things on their way home from work. Our Roadster owners will enjoy the convenience of plugging in at home or at work. Employers providing free charging for their employees will also enjoy the convenience (and economic benefit) of not having to install charging stations, costing several thousands of dollars per installation.
While Level ll charging is an option, the typical owner is not going to drive the Roadster on a long trip for a family vacation; you’ll take your Hybrid or SUV for those kinds of trips. The Roadster is designed to get you to work and back safely, economically, and with a smile on your face!
Comfort + Style = The Defiant EV3 Roadster
While the Roadster does have a streamlined shape for improved aerodynamics, it still has room to accommodate a tall driver! A gentleman 6 feet 9 inches tall recently sat behind the wheel of the roadster and was amazed by how roomy the cockpit was!
The backseat has room for two adults. We have also found passengers sitting in the backseat don’t feel cramped and appreciate there is room to extend their legs up beside the driver’s seat. Also, they valued being able to see out the windshield rather than looking directly at the back of the head of the person sitting in front of them as in a traditional car.

Integrity Comes First
While we do maintain an “interest list” with the names of hundreds of people that have already expressed an interest in buying the Roadster when it is available; we are not actively taking orders and deposits at this time. For us, taking deposits at this time is a question of ethics and integrity. We personally believe it is not appropriate to make statements providing a delivery date when we are not yet in a position to deliver! We are taking orders and deposits when we have the resources necessary to build the Roadsters. That’s why we are here – we are ready to take the next steps!
Why Invest Now?
It’s not easy to bring a full sized electric vehicle to the market. This is our second prototype and together we’ve performance tested the Roadsters for several years and driven thousands of miles in the rolling hills of east Tennessee. As you can see, we’ve come a long way on our own; however, we’ve still got a few things to do before we are ready to begin production.
The funds we raise are necessary to finalize the design and CAD drawings, construct body molds and chassis jigs, build pre-production prototypes, begin our advertising program, and demonstrate the Roadsters at national car shows and other events. These steps take approximately nine to twelve months and when these tasks are complete, we begin to take firm orders.
Recently the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) adopted final rules to facilitate smaller companies’ access to capital. The new rules provide everyone with more investment choices. The rules are mandated by Title IV of the Jumpstart Our Business Startups (JOBS) Act.
This means for the first time since the SEC was created in 1934, non-accredited investors can invest in ventures that fundraise under the Title IV Regulation A+ exemption.
