The Bookbinding Bus is an exciting new not-for-profit project to bring the craft of bookbinding to schools, city centres, music and literary festivals. It is now not possible to study for an accredited course in bookbinding anywhere in the UK.
The tutor is Kate Holland. Kate is a Fellow of Designer Bookbinders with bindings in private and public collections worldwide including the British and Bodleian Libraries. She has huge experience teaching bookbinding workshops to all ages.
Making fosters wellbeing. It is a vital part of being human. All over the country, people are rediscovering what our ancestors knew – that making something with your own hands gives you satisfaction, pleasure, solace…it’s the perfect therapy for the age we live in.

The Birthday Book was produced in a limited edition of 250. It features 13 beautiful lincout illustrations of British birds and animals by Olivia Clifton-Bligh, one for each month of the year. It was letterpress printed by John Grice at Evergreen Press and finally hand bound by Kate Holland. It comes in a custom made hand printed and numbered box
