Boställets vedugnsbageri was started in the fall of 2011. I wanted to work from the small farm where we live. I’d had enough of endless and seemingly resultless meetings. I wanted a job where I could get feedback on what I performed. In the bakery I get immediate feedback. I see the result in a perfect loaf of bread and I have the customers who often give an instant review. We own a big barn and me and my husband saw the possibility of building a bakery. Sixty years ago it was the home of dairy cows. It was kind of a wild project. Now, four years later I’m very happy to run a good working small business. In 2015 the turnover is about 2,7 Mkr. I also like the fact that we contribute to a living countryside. To follow the building process from barn to bakery have a look at my blogg.
We offer a special place for a visit and a light lunch or a coffé and the possibility to bring home some locally produced bread and other products of good quality
Our wood fired oven and our position in the countryside makes us competitive. We make soups and bread with produce in season and preferably locally produced. We don’t use additives. We make cakes and custard and the like from scratch.
The money will be used to build a winter garden to house a larger café. We plan to build the winter garden during 2016. The whole project will probably cost us about 40 000 Euros. We need to build some personnel facilities as well. It’ll be a nice café where you’ll be sitting inside, but still have the view of the countryside. I envisage a sedum roof that would blend into the landscape nicely. We would like to have the building ready for the 5th anniversary of the stating of the company i.e. the fall of 2016.
