Meet the company combating screen-time anxiety with an interactive children’s book

iCrowdNewswire - Nov 26, 2015

Wednesday, November 25, London, UK – Dara.io, the brainchild of a Sussex University PhD graduate Margara Tejera and Creative Developer with 15 years in the industry Denis Ippel, have launched a new way to help both children and parents bridge the digital divide with an interactive book.

The book, a children’s book, The Adventures of the Time Tub Twins, follows the story of twins who travel through the different ages in their homemade time-machine. It can be read from start to finish but the real magic is when used with the accompanying app.

Through the magic of AR (augmented reality), the book literally comes to life. Children can interact with the characters as they run across pages, create their own characters to accompany the protagonists and even influence the story;

“Technology has revolutionised how we tell stories, both in portraying our real world and imaginary ones. By creating a new medium for interactive storytelling we’re combining the best of both worlds. And who better to enjoy it than children?

We are on a mission to help them engage with the books in their bookshelves while discovering the new possibilities that virtual reality technology brings.” said co-founder and CEO, Margara Tejera.

Dara Technologies is based in London and was founded in May 2015 by Margara Tejera and Dennis Ippel. Their first book, The Adventures of the Time Tub Twins, is currently available for pre-order on crowdfunding platform Indiegogo.
