Nestling amidst fields, horses & wildflowers at the foot of the Sussex Downs, the centre which has now been open for six years, was created to provide a dedicated place for the practise of yoga & holistic therapies in a harmonious and tranquil environment as an alternative to noisy gyms and leisure centres.
Housed in beautiful Mongolian style yurts which create a light and airy space – kept warm in Winter thanks to the wood burning stoves and cool in the Summer – the centre is an incredibly special place, with a dedicated and continually growing following from all over Sussex.
There is a wide yoga offering in abundance of styles; from hatha, vinyasa, ashtanga, yin, restorative and pregnancy to dedicated classes for childrens and teens… along side a wonderful variety of workshops, meditation, nutrition, individual holistic treatments and yoga teacher training.
Sadly, at the beginning of November… both wood burners (which were built to order) were stolen and significant damage was caused to both roofs when the chimney flashing was cut out. The on site shop was also broken in to.
Despite the damage, the busy weekly schedule of classes & workshops have all been kept going, with temporary repairs made to the roof and electric heaters used for warmth.
The centre needs to raise enough money to restore the yurts to their former glory, replacing both woodburners and chimneys, repairing the roofs and the felt linings that have been badly damaged. In order to protect against future theft some security measures need putting into place such as a lockable gate, security lights and possibly a security camera. In a bit more detail:
There are already a couple of small fundraising initiatives in place; a raffle and community healing day which will all help…but the centre needs more help to reach it’s target. It needs YOU.
