On November 1st, 2015, Forward Pictures has launched a crowdfunding campaign on the Indiegogo platform to independently fund the production of the Black Files film – a dark and intense action-thriller in the vein of “Zero Dark Thirty” and “Sicario”, which explores current topics about the world terrorism and international organized crime in one tough movie reality. The Godsmack’s frontman Sully Erna will star in the movie and already shows an enormous support for the project, because he believes that “Black Files” deserves a big screen release. The rock-star has a major role in the film and his fans are eager to see his next movie project. Primary cast members also includes the “Baywatch” legend David Chokachi and the Bulgarian movie-star Luiza Grigorova.
The family of the US Ambassador in an East-European country is slaughtered. The world’s media attention is now pointed at Sofia, Bulgaria. A top CIA agent is assigned to find out who is responsible for the assault. He recruits a local rookie cop and they dig deeper into world of corruption, terrorism and international crime. The deeper they go, the more they realize that the truth is hidden behind “non-existing” powerful organization, named Black Files.
Black Files is brought to you by the Forward Pictures team. Their last movie project is the acclaimed Indie film Roseville, which won the prize for The Best European independent film from ECU film festival in Paris, France. The team is planning to start the pre-production of Black Files early next year and to begin shooting soon after that. The movie will be shot in Bulgaria for couple of reasons, but mostly because the plot and all major events in the film take place in Bulgaria and the creators of “Black Files” believes that authenticity is very important for this project. The production team has solid background in movie industry and experience on films such as “The Expendables”, “300: Rise of an empire”, “Conan” and many more; these passionate individuals lend their industry expertise to the film and ensure a great release.
