Street Ballet is a passion project that Photographer Sabrina Hill (www.thesabrina.com) and Motion Graphic Artist/Director Josh Crews(www.JoshCrews.net) have developed together, combining their skills and styles to make a really beautiful video.
This idea initially started from a photo series that Sabrina has been building over the last 3 years. The series captures classical point ballerinas in urban environments. Cool Right?
The juxtaposition of elegant, beautiful dancers contrasted with architectural landscapes creates a poetic and aesthetic scene.
So with this same look and feel in mind, we’re bringing this concept to life with motion.
In addition to this creative video concept, they are teaming up with an incredibly talented dancer, Eliana Girard. She’s been seen on a variety of TV shows, including So You Think You Can Dance, when she won season 9. Her choreography is a perfect blend of modern, freestyle dance and tractional ballet. She’s pretty awesome.
To top it all off, as she’s doing her routine through the video, her movements will be accentuated with visual motion graphics that will trace and highlight her moves.
We have a song custom made just for this piece. It’s a modern, electronic spin on classical ballet music. With the combination of the unique music, dance, and visual aesthetics, we’re very excited to bring this piece to life.
Street Ballet will require specific equipment and location needs to pull it all together. This is why we’re asking for you help. Our producer has itemized an accurate budget for everything we need. Our crew and talent have been selected, our location has been reserved, and our treatment has been made.
The only missing elements are the funds to put this project into motion. We hope you find inspiration in this project and are able to contribute. Contributors will receive incentives ranging from and 8×10 print from the footage, up to your very own photo shoot with me!
Thank you for spending your time with us to learn about this project. We look forward to sharing the final video with you!
Now Let’s get Dancing…
