We urgently need your help in creating a new online gallery designed for up and coming graphic artists and illustrators, specifically within the genres of urban contemporary, comic, graphic illustration and poster art, with a special emphasis on original artworks as well as archival quality Limited Edition Prints – Fine Art Silkscreen, Giclée and illuminated Duratrans or C-Type prints.
The gallery is called Eight Editions, and has been a long time in the making since I first came up with the idea on a trip to Argentina back in 2009.
Having been inspired by various artists, illustrators and in particular the established street art in Buenos Aires, I began selecting some of my favourite graphic artists, with an aim to showcase previously unknown talent – including resident UK artists and illustrators from all over Europe, Asia, Australia, Canada, the US and Latin America, as well as raising money for charity.
The website will provide a platform and a means for emerging artists to showcase, sell, license and promote their limited edition art works and provide links to tailor made online portfolios as well as giving them royalties on any works sold.
A percentage of each transaction through the website will go towards our selected charity Médecins Sans Frontières – www.msf.org.uk with a view to expanding into various other projects as the site progresses.
Eight Editions will also offer standard and bespoke archival framing services in addition to our products, and on top of that we will host pop-up exhibitions and gallery nights as well as regular stands at major art fair events including Monikerwww.monikerartfair.com in order to further promote the website:
All of the contributions will initially be going towards funding the development of the website, which I believe will be paramount to the project’s success and set the website apart from the competition with not only stunning images but excellent user interactivity and experience.
We have recently finalised the initial branding but as yet no development work on the website has been able to go ahead, so I hope that with your help together we can get the website up and running by around the second quarter of 2016 at the latest.
This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a fantastic and innovative creative project which I am extremely passionate about, and I hope to be able to share a part of that with you all in the coming months.
* Please note that all rewards can only be claimed when the website is up and running, which is likely to be around Feb/March 2016.
