Day of the Dead Altar
Day of the Dead altars are built during Dia de Muertos to honor the lives of those who have passed. They are often beautiful creations, constructed with love and care. Creating these altars is one of the most important traditions during Day of the Dead in Mexico.
As such, a whole section of the venue will be curated to look like a Day of the Dead altar, dedicated to iconic Mexican painter, Frida Kahlo featuring her interests, passion and other lifetime highlights. The Mexican community will be invited to contribute to this altar, providing a glimpse of this festivity to those not familiar with it as well as the life of international icon, Frida Kahlo.
Day of the Dead Artworks
Providing iconic Frida artworks as a base, local artists will be invited to reinterpret these pieces and this will highlight a Singaporean take on a culture and be part of a festivity that’s celebrated on the other side of the world.
