Amarya Ltd is the company behind LoveLula.com, Balm Balm 100% Organic Skincare and ManOrganic.com.
With over 200 brands and more than 4,000 different products LoveLula is a multiple-award winning online destination for natural & organic beauty products.
Gross annual turnover has grown from £37,000 to close to £1 Million in just 6 years and with over 95,000 subscribers to our mailing lists and over 25,000 Facebook followers we are in a strong position to grow even faster going forward.
Last year we introduced an online market place for up-and-coming brands to sell on a consignment basis with fulfilment from the LoveLula warehouse. From a standing start it already accounts for almost 25% of turnover. To the best of our knowledge, LoveLula also offers the UK’s only organic monthly Beauty Box subscription and recently launched the first dedicated natural & organic grooming site for men at ManOrganic.com.
In May 2015 we acquired Balm Balm, a leading UK organic beauty brand. We expect this to add annual revenues in the region of £180,000 and improve average margins.
Now we are seeking an investment of £300,000 to grow the business with a target of £7M in sales and £1M in pre-tax profits by 2020.
The Story:
Amarya is the result of a 9-year journey which began with the birth of my child and ended up unifying 2 award-winning companies and led to the acquisition of Balm Balm, one of the UK’s leading 100% organic beauty brands.
In 2005 as a first-time mother I discovered that my son had severe eczema. Reluctant to put prescribed steroids onto his skin I went in search of a more natural solution. Unable to find a trusted source for natural & organic skincare products and realising that all my friends were having the same problem I decided to launch my own shop and Amarya was born.
My personal experience and passion formed every aspect of the company. Actively supporting small, often family-run natural and organic brands, Amarya was soon delivering thousands of products to customers around the world. The company’s success attracted the attention of market-leaders such as Dr. Hauschka, Trilogy and REN , and led to us winning 13 major industry awards for our customer care and product integrity.
In July 2013 I took the decision to acquire the organic beauty apothecary LoveLula, retaining the best elements of both. As LoveLula had the bigger online profile this name was retained as the trading name. In May 2015 we acquired the Balm Balm 100% Organic brand to further strengthen our position. So far between myself my brother and our friends and family we have invested in the region of £900,000 in the business.
Use of Funds:
We are raising £300,000 of which approximately 40% will be used to significantly increase our marketing budget across PPC campaigns and social media. With our high repeat purchase rate we are constantly evaluating the optimal sources of gaining new customers at the best economic unit cost.
A further 30% will be used to hire dedicated business managers for the LoveLula Boutique, the ManOrganic site and the subscription commerce business. Approximately 20% will be used to move into larger warehouse premises and the remainder will be allocated to new brand and product development.
