Tea with Mali, An Inspirational Interview Show Highlighting Everyday People with Remarkable Stories Recently Launched a Crowdfunding Campaign on Indiegogo to Continue Production
ALEXANDRIA, VA, September 25, 2015 – Tea with Mali announced today that it recently launched a crowdfunding campaign on Indiegogo to raise funds that will help to continue its production. The goal is to raise $83,200 on Indiegogo to reach other public access networks throughout the U.S., launch on a broader selection of online and digital platforms, increase their positive influence and pay their current team, moving them from an all-volunteer basis to paid staff. Additional experts will need to be hired to manage social engagement that foster positivity in communities across online platforms.
All the members of the Tea with Mali team, from the producer, videographer, light technician, production assistants and marketers, have dedicated 3 years to the program with no income. Mali Phonpadith, the Executive Producer and Host, has produced the show out of her own pocket and now needs support to create a viable program that can become self-sustaining. The show currently airs throughout public access stations in Fairfax County, Arlington County, and Montgomery County. In October, Tea with Mali will begin airing throughout the 5 Burroughs of NYC. The show has prerecorded episodes for five seasons. Only two seasons have been fully edited and ready to air. In order to complete postproduction on all prerecorded seasons as well as continue new production, we must raise additional funds.
Tea with Mali inspires, motivates and encourages future leaders to share their gifts, talents and life experiences with others. The focus is to remind viewers that their stories, visions and aspirations matter and that they too can change the world, starting with their local communities. The interviews are intended to share real stories, real hope and real possibilities for everyone, regardless of economic status, race, culture or religious views.
After escaping from her war-torn country of Laos, overcoming poverty and racism in her new home and experiencing the abrupt losses of loved ones, Mali Phonpadith has a deep understanding of how to overcome life’s most painful challenges. With the host’s definitive voice, Tea with Mali seeks to provide a spark of inspiration and hope throughout the U.S. and the world.
In August 2015, Mali’s organization, The SOAR Community Network, was selected as a Belief Team Partner in association with the Oprah Winfrey (OWN) Network and Values Partnership. The mission is to bring communities together and help foster inspiring dialogue around belief, compassion, hope and healing.
Mali Phonpadith’s work, the SOAR Community Network’s vision and the mission of Tea with Mali have converged to help bridge business goals with legacy driven work in the world. Funding support will allow Tea with Mali to continue and expand its positive impact. To learn more about the Tea with Mali Indiegogo campaign, visit: http://igg.me/at/teawithmalitv/x.
