As of the 9th September 2015 The Queen will be our longest serving Monarch. As a small token of our appreciation, we’ve created two delicious life-like lollipops, in a pair of delightfully British flavours: Chocolate Biscuit or Strawberries & Cream.
Chocolate Biscuit is silky milk chocolate decorated with delicate shards of wafer and dark chocolate crispy spheres; Strawberries & Cream is made with smooth white chocolate, real freeze-dried strawberries and crispy, creamy pearls.
With our newly developed process, we can put your head on a stick. We promise to make you taste as good as you look. Using 3D scanners, 3D printers and a little bit of magic, we can create photo-realistic lollipops of anyone in a multitude of flavours.
To turn you into a lollipop we have to do a few things. First of all, we need to get you down to Somerset House in London to be 3D scanned. We make a 3D model from your scan using a 3D printer. Then, It’s a case of making a mould, casting the chocolate and adding your flavour of choice.
We’re on Kickstarter because we want to make the most incredible candy the world has ever seen. Crucial to this is setting up the Candy Lab – a space where we can develop, make and deliver all of our creations from one location. We also need to invest in packaging to create a way to house and transport our creations safely. We have already started work on this in-house but need a manufacturer to produce them at scale.
These lollipops are just one of many future creations we have in store. We need you help to get off the ground, so we can make the others, a reality.
Candy Mechanics was established by designers Sam Part and Benjamin Redford during a collaborative residency in Selfridges department store, London. Will Leigh (our very own Willy Wonka and long-time confectionery developer) has previously worked for Green & Black’s, Kraft, Paul A Young Fine Chocolates as well as the major UK supermarkets. He joined the adventure to add some incredible flavour to the project.
